Jewish Long Beach Men’s Philanthropy invites you to join in a night of live comedy, honors, eats and drinks! We will be celebrating our 7th Above & Beyond on Thursday, February 6th, 2020, 6:00 pm at the Alpert Jewish Community Center on the Weinberg Jewish Long Beach Campus. The evening brings together men from all over the community to celebrate the power we have to care for the vulnerable, to be committed to the survival of the Jewish people, to invest in the future of our children, and to rescue those in need no matter where they live or how they worship. Jewish moments powered by you! You will have an opportunity to give a gift to the Jewish Long Beach Annual Fund upon registering or at the event itself.

 

We begin with a reception that will have plentiful cocktails, whiskey tastings, micro-brewery tastings, cigar tastings and hearty food stations. Then we will honor local men who go above and beyond in support, and leadership, throughout our community, nominated by their agencies and synagogues. (Please see the sidebar to the right, for the 2020 Above & Beyond honorees, confirmed as of printing). “It is always so great to honor these men from our community and share their good deeds with all. I for one, meet many new people and learn things about them I would otherwise not know. Makes me very proud to be part of this community” stated Above & Beyond Chair Marcos Weinstein. 

 

We are very excited to present standup comedian Avi Liberman. Avi’s quirky style has made him a favorite in Comedy Clubs from Los Angeles to New York.  Born in Israel, raised in Texas, having gone to college in New York, and now living in Los Angeles, his style is a winning combination of life experiences and topical issues told through a varied blend of characters and voices with worldwide expertise.  You can view some clips of him at HERE. 

 

This year, you will be receiving your Above & Beyond invitation via email, right around the time you are reading this. There will be a direct link to an on-line registration form. We will be sending plenty of email reminders. 

 

Using E-Invitations continues to save us thousands of dollars for printing, postage and staff time. Tickets are $75 each, $35 for students and there are many sponsorship opportunities. In addition, guests are asked to make a requested minimum gift to the 2020 Annual Fund of $180. If you have already made your gift, you do not need to make an additional one to attend.
