Our executive team has been diligently working with other aquatic facilities to arrange a reciprocal partnership for lap and recreational swimming. Despite our best efforts, we have yet to finalize an arrangement that will meet our needs.

The last day of swimming will be Sunday, September 1. Construction will begin on September 3, 2024 (the day after Labor Day). We anticipate a grand reopening for Memorial Day Weekend 2025. The exact reopening date may be subject to change.
While the Pool will be unavailable, we invite you to enjoy all the other amenities included in your membership: including the Alban Fitness Center, Feldman Gym with indoor basketball and pickleball, and a variety of group exercise classes.
Don’t forget, your membership also includes discounts to programs such as personal training, classes, luncheons, socials, and campus rentals. Active family memberships qualify for discounted Camp Komaroff rates. An active family membership is also required to enroll in ECE & KESHER After School Enrichment.
For members with health & fitness insurance benefits (such as SilverSneakers®, Active&Fit™, etc.), you may consider contacting your provider to find other aquatic facilities in your area during the construction period. Please note: The AJCC does not facilitate payments made to your insurance provider. To discontinue payments on your insurance-based membership, please contact your provider. Should you chose to look for another facility, we will look forward to welcoming you back to the J when construction is complete! When you are ready to reinstate your membership, contact your insurance provider, and follow up with us with your plan and Fitness ID number.
Your membership dues support the mission-driven work of Jewish Long Beach and sustain meaningful capital projects like this for future generations. Thank you for maintaining your membership during this period of construction!
For information about your account or to adjust your membership, please contact Michelle Sears, Membership Manager, at msears@alpertjcc.org or ext. 1320
We do not anticipate the Pool construction impacting any other areas of the J. The basketball and pickleball courts, locker rooms, and Alban Fitness Center will still be fully available to members. There may, at times, be slightly fewer parking spaces available to accommodate the construction.
There has never been a better time to give a gift to our community by supporting the Capital Campaign. Your gift today will be felt for generations to come. Please contact Kevin Giser for more information on how to make your impact.
